Recently I found some awesome stamps and couldn't resist to buy them!
Today I played with them combining different stamps and made these note cards. I love them!

Love their retro look and the combination of white, red and black is just great!

Aquest és l'esbós de penjolls "Suspesos"

Initially I wanted to finish them with twigs, but finally it was difficult to find such small and sturdy twigs and I left this idea apart.After few months having them in the drawer I decided to finish them with pearls and I think it worked out perfectly! Love the contrast and harmony between the clay and pearls!

Inicialment volia acabar aquests penjolls amb branquetes de pi, però finalment ha estat difícil trobar branquetes petites i fortes. Després de tenir les peces dins el calaix durant mesos vaig decidir acabar-les amb perles i crec que aquesta combinació ha funcionat perfectament! M'encanta el contrast i l'harmonia entre el fang rugós i les perles tan perfectes!

After a long long time dreaming about I could adopt one Naughty feeling from Mitsy's 99 Feelings project.
I have to confess: It was love at first sight. Mitsy has a wonderful blog and everything she does is just beautiful!
I was happy to meet Mitsy in person in Amsterdam, in Westerpark, on Etsy sellers meeting!

I don't know why, but I loved Naughty to begin my collection. Probably because I love things made with sense of humor and this small babushka with a pig's tail makes me smile. :)

Tatam! Surprise was waiting for me on the post office: Naughty arrived very fast!

Do you remember these beads?They have been fired at about 900ºC (1652ºF) and turned out beautiful dark gray color...
Biology was my fav signature at golledge...I adored my teacher and everything about natural siences... It's fun to observe how my passion is reflecting in everything I create now...
So welcome Algae necklace, not finished yet though... Terracotta beads, coral and pearls... And...of course, my naturalist soul :)

My life-space-time are filled with this 15 days old baby right now.
I know, I'm living the best moments in my life for the third time now...holding this little wonder in my hands, breastfeeding him, ...I know, he'll grow up and I'll have more time for myself one day but I'll miss these days...
Most of my free time right now goes to have rest, to sleep, to take care of my family...
But well, here are some little experiments...

Curving rubber molds - I had this idea during a lot of time in my mind. Finally I've got the rubber block and I could try out something. I wasn't too much satisfied with the mold, but when I tried it out with clay, I loved the result...

Today, today...another day..sunny and beautiful...
On friday I purchased this cozy jacket in a thrift store and I wear it today for the first time...Love it's "granny's" look, and the plastic buttons with "diamonds" :)
Today morning I lost myself in a local fabric shop looking for some fabric... I want to sew bags for my new necklaces...something in vintage air, air of my grandmothers closet...
And I found these...
How do you find them? Look great, I think :)

Twig buttons

Roc is still sitting in my belly, it looks like he feels good and doesn't want to come out...I'm curious to see his face, to have him here with us, but if he wants to wait, it means for me one day more of doing my projects...
Today I was between sewing, clay beads making, rubber curving, experimenting with plaster molds...and finally I decided to take a rest of clay and to sew.
I sewn few pouches from printed Mallorcan ikat fabric and I thought that twig buttons would be an unique and fun detail.
I had some pine twigs I brought from the pine forest! Enough to make 6 buttons I needed.

I cut the twigs and sanded future buttons.

Here they are - 6 twiggies! I just love how they smell of forest!

Hole making is the most difficult part for me, I need to apply force...

Yay! I've got them! 6 smooth forest buttons!
I added them to my new pouches and purses.
Isn't it look cute?

Soon they will be available in my shop.

Meanwhile

It was raining during few days. I decided to make beads from black clay at home and they had time to dry up completely.
Yesterday rain stopped and today I could sand the beads and toast my face on the sun in the garden.

It's quite dirty work... I finished tired, dirty and very hungry :)

...But if at the end you've got what you want...
I don't really know how the necklaces will go out finally...I have an idea, but in the process everything can change...
These will go to the kiln, and then, we'll see what happend...
Meanwhile I'm still waiting for Roc to born...one day to go...

Please, welcome the newborn - the Succulent necklace.
I had no fixed idea when I was making it, I knew I wanted to use long beads... I tryed many different ways and combos and beads and stones..untill it was born and I felt myself satisfied with the result...
The segmental structure remembers me a succulent plant and at the same time probably an insect, but I feel it's something more about a plant, a vegetal than an animal...
It's weightless and just gorgeous on the neck...so special....beautiful...delicate and graceful...
..I can't hide it -.. I'm in love.

The first buds

After soiling myself in black clay some quirky beads were born.

I love them because they are uneven and unique. Also the idea to combine clay with gemstones was born and here are the first buds:

Gemstone beads contrast with raw clay surface and make a great combination of color and texture. Pine twigs add to the necklaces even more organic look.

New tote!

Let me introduce this ikat fabric I purchased last sunday. (See yesterdays post)

I decided to make few totes from it. I went to a local shop to find matching fabric and I found two absolutely wonderful colors: cocoa brown and khaki green. I decided to make 2 different totes. One - with brown outside and another one - with green.

It's much more easier to cut fabrick for two bags together than doing it separatly. So I did so. I cut all the fabric. There is enough ikat to sew 3 totes.

In my mind I made connections with other pieces I've made...I think they make a great combo together!

Martí Vicenç museum

Last sunday we went to Pollença [poˈʎɛnsə] - town situated on the north-east of the island, settled in Serra de Tramuntana mountain chain. Pollença is considered as one of the most ancient places on the island. The name "Pollença" comes from the name of the Roman settlement of "Pollentia".Is a cozy, beautiful town with narrow streets. Love it. It's in about an hour by car from home. Arrived to Pollença we found a place to park the car (it was not easy:) and we began to climb up slowly to the center of town. We go to Martí Vicenç Museum situated on 365-step stairway north of the square; this leads up to a chapel on top of the hill known as Calvary...
There are 3 artisan workshops on Mallorca producing traditional ikat fabric - Roba de Llengües: in Pollença, in Lloseta and in Santa Maria del Camí. Roba de Llengües is probably the most characteristic visual symbol of Mallorcan art and craft traditions on Mallorca. I love this fabric because it connects me to the island, to the roots, to the magic of artisanie... I began to make things from printed fabric, but recently I discovered that Roba de Llengües is an ikat fabric and I wanted to close me up to the workshops and to put my nose in. On sunday the workshop in Pollença was closed, but I could visit the museum and to buy a piece of authentic Roba de Llengües fabric. It's beautiful and nicely heavy in my hands. I'm excited...
Well, here are some pictures...

Martí Vicenç Vilanova was a man who introduced Roba de Llengües in Pollença. His son Marti Vicenç Alemany was a painter and scupltor. His paitings, fiber-art, sculptures are featured in the musem. There is a showroom dedicated to fabric production and a little shop as well.

The museum is situated in a former monastery. To see the space I go downstairs, and downstairs again....old stone walls and arc shaped ceilings....I close my eyes and I try to imagine how much things have happend here...years, centures ago...
Ohhhh...this floor made of ancient terracotta is ...mmm...gorgeous!
I go home.. with a piece of fabric nicely heavy in my hands...I'm excited!
Alcanada is the next stop on the way home. I explore beautifully textured rocks, enjoy being by the sea, I can't stop looking at pebbles...There are a lots but they are raw and ugly. Why in every place pebbles are different?

Sewing pillow cases

The most difficult part was to make button holes. :)

2 days in Berlin

These are one of the first images I saw in Berlin...
I had no idea about the city and I didn't really know where to go. I went to Alexanderplatz just because I heard this name before.
I wanted to catch the spirit of the city, to take away a feeling. It was difficult on the first day. I saw Berliner dom - the cathedral, famous touristic places, but it wasn't really what I wanted to see or it didn't provide me any special feeling.
The first thing I bought when I went out from metro - an umbrella! It began to rain.
Grey sky, rain, cold.

I met with my friend in her cozy home with wooden floor. It was a good opportunity for me to learn new things about her, her preferencies, her tastes...

Accidentally it was Monday and every Monday Etsy people in Berlin organize Etsy Labs.
This time Kristina - the lady who organizes Etsy Labs - prepared some fun activities in a very special place - Prinzessinengärten. I recommend you to drop a peek to their web page. It's a garden in the city where volunteers plant vegetables and herbs. Where people just can come and touch the soil, to have an experience to plant, to see how vegetables grow. Nowdays very often kids don't know where from potatoe comes, how it grows, e t.c....here is the place where you can see it, touch it, try it and to do more things....I think it was a good place to organize Etsy Labs, it connects well with Etsy.
My friend was sewing for the first time and she enjoed it so much. I tried screenprinting for the first time as well.

Kristina invited me to visit the Etsy office and Etsy Labs space, where usually Etsy Labs take place every Monday.

On the second day we walked a lot with my friend, we spoke a lot...
I began to have a feeling about the city.
A city full of bikes, hazel trees...
It is not too big, it is more small than big...Made for people to live...without pomp, simply....cozy...
Divided, united, marked with a lot of pain of the tragic past, multicultural like any modern megapolis, creative, free...

Raku workshop

Raku-yaki (楽焼), or Raku ware, is a type of Japanese pottery that is traditionally and primarily used in the Japanese tea ceremony in Japan, most often in the form of tea bowls. It is traditionally characterized by hand-molding of the clay as opposed to turning it on a potter's wheel, resulting in each piece being "one-of-a-kind"; low firing temperatures (resulting in a fairly porous body); lead glazes; and the removal of pieces from the kiln while still glowing hot. In the traditional Japanese firing process, the fired Raku piece is removed from the hot kiln and put directly into water or allowed to cool in the open air. Raku techniques have been adopted and modified by contemporary potters worldwide. (taken from Wikipedia)

Pieces have been fired once and painted with glazes. They are ready to go to the kiln again.

Sebastiana, our lovely teacher, she explains us how everything will go and what we have to do. My task is to take pics ;).

The aluminium container used in raku firing is working as a reduction tube, which is a container with a small hole that allows the carbon dioxide to pass through. By closing the container, a reduction atmosphere is created. A reduction atmosphere needs to be created because of the effects of oxygen on the clay and its color. It also has extraordinary effects on the metals inside the glaze. Reduction is a decrease in oxidation number. Closing the can starves the air of oxygen after the combustible materials such as sawdust catch fire, forcing the reaction to pull oxygen from the glazes and the clay. For example luster duster gets its interesting color from deprivation of oxygen. The reduction agent is a substance which electrons are being taken from by another substance that is being reduced. The reaction uses oxygen from the atmosphere within the reduction tube, and in order to continue, it receives the rest of the oxygen from the glazes. This leaves ions and iridescent luster behind. This creates a metallic effect, pleasing to the eye. Pieces with no glaze have nowhere to get the oxygen from, so they take it from clay. Such an atmosphere will turn clay black, making an unattractive, matte color, with no sheen whatsoever. (taken from Wikipedia)

Wheel throwing

Wheel throwing always was something I wanted to try. It's a pure magic when a pot comes out from a piece of clay.
But it's more difficult as I imagined....
First of all you have to center a piece of clay on the wheel. This is the most difficult part for me at the moment.

When clay is perfectly centered you can begin to make the hole and to open the piece....then, to throw it up...

I'm quite impatient and clay always teached me to be PA-TI-ENT and to work with it SLOW-LY. Piece, concentration and PA-TI-ENCE...Slowly, Anastasia, don't hurry up!...Slowly...
You'll be treated if you are patient. Clay doesn't like hurries.

How I was proud and happy to throw MY FIRST pots! They are quiet basic and imperfect, but I felt myself very glad! Now I use them to put my brushes and pens and other supplies. It's so nice to use something you've made.

There is a long way to go, a lot of things to try and to learn.
Wheel-throwing is magic.

It's poppies time again....

I picked up some poppies seed pods and here are some new poppies brooches just born

Oh yes, and these Ethnic earrings are also ready, this is a porcelain interpretation of my design performed before in polymer clay

On the 1st of May I'll begin my work in the hotel. I hope I could find time for my family and for my creative projects as well...

Today is St. Jordi!

One year ago I went to Barcelona and I lived St.Jordi celebrations there.
I just repeat this post because today is St. Jordi - the 23rd of April.

"I live on Mallorca (Majorca) island, situated in Mediterranean sea, in approx. 400km from Barcelona by the sea. I needed to go to Russian consulate in Barcelona and I decided to spend one day more there because I was curious to know how is celebrating Saint Jordi (St. George) there on the 23rd of April. St.Jordi is a patron saint of Catalonia. The legend says: Saint George killed the Dragon. Dragon's blood penetrated the earth and in this place red-red roses grew up.

So the Catalonian tradition is: men gives away a red rose to women and women gives away a book to men.

I was accompanied by roses smell and a lot of books during all the day!
I love Barcelona! It's a cosmopolite city, with great creativity. Ancient history and new ideas always flow there, you feel it in every moment. I love just walk in the down town, or Raval neighbourhood and go to the port. If you go to Barcelona you'll find plenty of expos and places where to go, and where to eat.

This time I went to Textile and Ceramic museum - I love ceramic and in this museum I discovered Maria Bofill ceramic artist - her porcelain clouds are wonderful!
Also I visited Outumuro fashion photograth exposition. His work is amazing!
I was looking his photos and I was asking myself: What do they have this pieces of white paper with black lines and silhouettes? Why they turn me crazy?

I was very happy with my discoveris, but I had en empty stomack, I needed to eat.

If you want to taste an authentic Catalan food I recommend to you restaurants Origens. If you are vegetarian, go to Self Naturista restaurant, is a great place situated just in 2 minutes walking from Plaça Catalunya - the heart of the city. They have a great variety and quality of food by low prices.

In the afternoon I returned to Mallorca accompanied by an amazing sunset. Bye bye, Adéu, Barcelona! And Hola, Mallorca! :)

Yesterday I finished the necklace and took photos. And already listed the necklace in the shop. I feel myself so excited about tribal and ethnic pieces!, there is a "bee hive" of ideas in my head: colors, textures, shapes, materials.... I'll make more clay beads right today!

My first lavender bag ever. I made it for my friend. I had this idea a lot of time ago, but yesterday I couldn't wait more. My friend's birthday is today. I know, I work better under pression. And you? :)

I used traditional mallorcan fabric " Roba de llengües" to make this lavender bag.
This fabric is probably the most characteristic visual symbol of Mallorcan art and craft traditions on Mallorca island, where I live.

I hope she'll love it! :)

I went to the post office today and received a bunch of things! Such a treat!

One summer day I found this walking in the countryside in the neighbourhood. I was blown away by the beauty of these fragile poppies pods. I undestood I have to do somethning with this.

The idea converted into these pieces...brooches, and ring pieces in white-red and black-red.

I had to glaze them twice because the first time I put not enough glaze and it was a fallure.

But now, I love them. Smooth and white and lovely.

Also these pieces are just perfect to participate in European Street team challenge hosted on Zsazsazsu Blog, the theme is Seeds and Pods.

Japan relief

I heard about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan while driving the car and I couldn't imagine how destructive it were untill I saw the heartbreaking images on the TV.... all those people who couldn't save their lives and so much people who lost their home.... Every night when I go to sleep I think - how lucky I'am to sleep in my bed now under my roof....

Inspired by KoideStudio I decided to donate 50% of some items in my shop to devastating Japan. Probably it wont be too much, but it'll be my little help.
Look for "Japan relief" in my shop and in global Etsy search to find more sellers who also donate to this cause.

Yummy moments - Kitchen experiments

I always thought I'm not a great cook. But really may be I just need to practice more?
Following this video I prepared a very yummy orange cake!

Try it too!
You'll just need:
1 Orange
70ml of Oil (2.36 oz)
250 gr of Sugar (0.55 lb)
3 Eggs
170 gr of Flour (0.37 lb)
Baking powder 1 bag

Bake it at 180Cº (356Fº) during 35-40 min.

Just follow the video, it's so easy and very yummy! :P
P.S: In the video she uses rafinated sunflower oil and white sugar. I used Virgen Extra Olive oil and brown sugar and it was fine as well.

I've tried porcelain clay yesterday for the first time. I had to wet my hands all the time with water, I found it's more difficult to manipulate than white clay. It will be interesting to see the final result after firing...

Finally I mounted rubber stamps! I still have to finish to mount the cyrillic alphabet stamps....a lot of letters a lot of work :)

I had some ideas to make tribal pieces. I like the organic and simple look of clay.
Just the clay, your hands and the fire....

Surfing between different patterns of Roba de Llengües cloth-traditional Mallorcan fabric...It's ethnic look definitively attracts me...

More than 1 year passed since I began my online adventure creating my web-site, an on-line shop and after that - my Etsy shop. I couldn't imagine how much I'd learn, how much things I'd do and how much amazing personalities I'd meet...

New designs. I made a ring, a brooch and a pair of earrings playing with clay and scissors. I'm curoius about the final result.

There were few holidays this week and we went to the beach. We had good luck with weather, it was sunny and not windy.

I glazed, glazed and glazed Matryoshkas, leaves, leaves and Matryoshkas...:) They will be red, blue indigo, white, green, black...I hope I could fire them on next monday.

I found these leaves when I went out from pilates today. Aren't they beautiful! Such rich colour!

I met Marta, the owner of Martice etsy shop on Amsterdam craft fair. Actually Marta was the organizer of the Etsy sellers meet up in Amsterdam and she nicely offered her home to me and other girls.
Marta had a great and an original idea to knitt sleeves for laptops. I just loved it and I wanted one for my laptop urgently! I ordered one with custom colours and in few weeks I received my cosy warm sleeve!

I also use my sleve as a baggy to go to town or to go to work. It is so sweet and has so nice texture!I really enjoy it!

Travel to Moscow

I try to send my daughter on holidays to Russia, to my mother's home. This way she can practice her Russian and relacionate with her granny and with all my family.
I had a bad luck to find a job in reception and work hardly in summer time and to have holidays in winter.
This way I can't go with my daughter and spend summer on my motherland.

My travels to Russia normally are very short, just arrive to Moscow and go back. My family lives in 1600km from Moscow, so I have to take train or plane and need few days for the travel, thing I can't enjoy during high season in the hotel.

My last travel was the shortest one. In 24 hours I crossed Europe from the west to the east and from the east to the west again. I had no possibility to take photos. But 2 years ago I took some pics and wanted to share with you.

Metro is one of the things I like in Moscow. Some stations are really charming.

Also I like big green parcs....but I think it should be more green spaces in such big city.

Two of those individuals are my brother and his girl friend ;)

Annemiek: What can one do to help this world? Live consciously. I know I still take the car too often and could buy products with less packaging. But I try and do what I can, my packaging for my bowls is made via fair trade in Nepal and I know it does help the people there. I plant 2 trees for every 10 projects sold and I suport KIVA and the WWF. The trees and the WWF cause I feel the animals suffer most from the explosive growth of humans and there undertakings. I support KIVA cause the loans go direct to a person or small company and if they get better there surroundings will get better too. It is known the more educated the women are, the less children they will have and better lives, so I usually support female entrepreneurs, yes positive discrimination ;-)

I recycle every single waste at home. My husband and I separate paper, aluminum, biodegradable and glass very carefully.
We try to limit the electricity use, we don't own a car, we use the bike everyday to go to work.
We reduced our meat consumption and buy from organic and local agriculture. We often buy second hand clothes, we always reuse plastic and paper bags and we simply consume less of everything, and we are truly happy to help the planet and everyone concerned!

Oneperfectday: My recomendation to save the planet concerns the conservation of water with my sister's car wash recipe which is also chemical-free:
This is what you will need:
2 litres of water
sponge
newspaper

Put about 2 litres of water in a bucket.
Dip sponge in water and then 'wash' a section of the car with it as you would if it were soapy.
Bunch up newspaper pages and wipe over that part until there is no water or streaks left.
Proceed to the next section.
Then the next and the next till car is sparkly clean.
When you're finished, the dirty water in the bucket can be used to water your plants because there is no detergent or soap in it!!!

Yay! I can't believe it - I won our team Challenge Morocco which has been hosted on Creations by Eve blog. It was a really wonderful theme with a lot of amazing and colourful entries!

I had few ideas, but finally I decided for ANTARCTIDA theme. Today's very hot weather helped me to take the decision :)
Isn't this summer is too hot? I think we need something fresh! A cold drink, some ice, fresh shower, ice cream! Aren't penguins so cute? ...Aren't Antarctica landscapes so amazing?
Even most of us probably will never go to Antarctica and will never see it in live, but we can imagine it :)
I decided to go with Antarctica also because of the Global warming. It would be great if with your entrie you describe one action we can do to avoid the Global warming. Per ex.:to recycle, to plant more trees, eat less meat...e t.c....

It was a difficult question for me Why I have to create? I was asking myself: why why why you have to do it? Will be usefull your creations? Or will you just bring more trash into the world?

I felt an impuls to create but all these questions were like a mosquito who doesn't let you sleep well.
I couldn't begin without resolve this problem. I needed a reply.

I love expositions, installations, photo exhibitions, theatre, music, cinema e t.c...
I noted that art gives me something, is like an addictive feeling, is like to eat an ice-cream, you want to repeat again and again, looking for something surprising, amazing, looking for an Ooooh!!!

Custom order or Magnifying glass is needed

One day I found a message from a customer who wanted custom earrings.
We began to work and I learned a new word: "uneven" :)

The sketch helped us both to understand what we were speaking about.

Than I made few uneven :) pieces and client could choose 2 pieces she liked.

This is the final result.
But I think there is one thing missing - a Magnifying glass to discover the sea treasures that these earrings are hiding :D

There is a School of Arts in my native town. I began to take dance classes when I was 7 years old. Than, I falled in love with my neighbour's piano play and my fathers bougth my neighbour's piano and I began to take piano classes in the same School of Arts, leaving my dance classes. It was fun during first 3 years, easy and fun. But, after I had to study a lot, spending long hours with my piano. At the same time I felt the responsibility about my father's spent money for the piano and I thought I must continue studing, I began to suffer. After 5 years I left it. But I remember the good time I spent with my chorus mates, singing and playing in the school's garden and the Drawing classroom on the first floor. I always had an ilusion to paint, but I always was thinking I'm not good for it, or not good enough....

I began to draw when I became teenager. I don't know why I began to draw paisleys. I can't understand from where the influence came. My mom was stressed, she went to a psycologist with my drawings because they were different, she was afraid I'm a rare kind of a child. I listened Nirvana and wored my father's old jersey, black Converse and black jeans...my mom was terrifed with all THESE....:)
Time passed and I continue drawing paisleys :) I don't know if I'm good enough or not, I just enjoy it :)

Nostalgy

Yesterday I received a postcard from a friend with a beautiful poem and warm words on the back. It was so nice to receive it and the poem, and the envelope, all together... I remembered old times when we wrote letters and sent postcards by snail mail, it was so lovely! I loved post office when I was little girl, the smell on the post office, stamps, envelopes, post boxes.... I had a lot of penpals. It was so exciting to find a letter in the post box. And everytime I saw the postman (really it was a post-woman :)) I was thinking - oh, may be she brings something to me!
My friend's postcard brought to me all these sweet and nostalgic memories from my childhood. I want to say Thanks!
And recognize that nothing could be warmer than receive a postcard from a friend! :)

Yummy moments

I recognise that I'm not a great cook, but I love to eat and I love healthy food.
Last week we went to De Vinchi restaurant here in Manacor. This restaurant is a property of lovely argentinian family. I love this place because it is neat and pleasant to stay there. Norberto - father of the family and Chef always surprise with excellent food and beautiful presentation.
Sometimes I try to prepare Norberto's receipes at home;)

Sandwich with onion fried with honey and toasted goats cheese. Looks perfect. isn't it? :P

Natural finds

My mother came for a visit. It was a great opportunity to go out, to go to the beach and to explore the island.

Here my mother said: If paradise exists, it is here! :) I said: I think so! :)

Everytime I see how the sun plays with water I just would stay there forever, it hypnotise me....ohhh, amazingly beatiful!

Everytime we went to the beach I returned home with some new sand or pebbles I found there.

All these natural finds inspired me to create some tribal jewelry pieces.

I'm very happy with them, because I feel very strong connection with the nature, they are the Nature, nothing more....

Sunday walk or Where does inspiration come from?

I love go walking with my husband and my children. We talk walking and I observe the nature, herbs and plants, pick up some dry plants for my creations. I always say that Nature is a great source of inspiration!

Our dog Drujoc is very sympatic and happy. He loves go to go walk with us!

After weeks of silence I made these black snail post earrings. Black colour...mysterious, classic, elegant...situable for everyday and for party.

Hoera! Amsterdam!

I was writing this travelling on the plane from Amsterdam to Palma.
I just borrowed a pencil from my neighbour and began to write. I had a lot of impressions from this trip and our Etsy meeting. I took a great decision to go to Amsterdam, to meet my Etsy friends and to participate in Sunday Market in Westerpark.
We laught a ton, shared experiences and livings, had a lot of fun togeather.
I learned some interesting things and wanted to share with you:

- Netherlands means "Low lands" - is very plane, humid and green country.

- the Name of Amsterdam airport is Schiphol.

- People from Netherlands and a lot of Belgian people speak the same language - Dutch. But don't worry if you don't understand it, almost everybody speaks English!

- Don't be shy and be ready for kisses! :) Dutch people are more generous than Spanish in this aspect, they will give you 3 kisses instead of 2! ;)

-Water and boats are things dutch people have in the blood! Cities are surrounded by water, canals and bridges are everywhere...oh..it couldn't be more romantic!

-Take out on the street, on the bank of the canal your table and chairs and call your friends for dinner if you want to experiment real dutch life living! And don't worry about the sunlight, at 23h it is still not dark! After 23h your carefull neighbour will give you some candles and matches, so you don't need to think about nothing!

-You will find a plenty of fresh juices, tasty cookies, a lot of Etsians, yummy bread filled with raisins and nuts and a ton of other amazing things!

-Don't be surprized if suddenly you find yourself in a warm atmosphere among Etsians, sitting in the bar and making felted soap!

- Be ready for the hot weather and for the refreshing rain. Take your raincoat with you.

- Can you imagine how Longshort street is?

- Don't forget to smile and to say Dank well! :)

At the end, I want to thank Marta Martice for the great organization and hospitality, Matt to be with us with the Etsy uniting and synergy power :) and Everybody to come and make this event so successfull and warm.
I go home with a wish to return back one day and ride by bike in Amsterdam!

Something more than SWAP

Swap - a new word I learned not too much time ago.
I had my first SWAP experience with Brenda from L'Indecise - young jewelry designer, who makes beautiful jewelry with wire, polymer clay, gemstones and swarowski.
I received my SWAP lovely packed and adorned with mysterios tarot tags and elegant black ribbon! :)
Brenda made an original wire ring for me and also she gave me an amazing surprize - these adorable dark blue wire earrings! I love them! :)
This swap brought to me a lot of positive vibrations and feelings. It is very pleasant to imagine how somebody makes something thinking of you.
These jewels have a history and special meaning, energy, time, love.
Swap - is something more than swap! ;)

My VERY FIRST CRAFT FAIR!

I saw the Craft Fair promotional posters in the town and I thought: why not?! The Craft fair will be in my town, I have to use the chance and try! I was excited!
It was like a big mess in my head. I had just few days before the fair and the travel to Barcelona in the middle. My son was sick and didn't go to the kindergarden one day, I was just collapsed.
I made a list of things to do. And tryed to imagine how my stand will look like.
I want to say a huge thank to Mitsy from Artmind . She helped me a ton with her articles related with craft fairs!

I felt I'm not alone and It was very important for me!

I made more staff. I made business cards. I thought about packaging and presentation. I made photoholders and I printed big photos of my jewels. I thought that people walk and do not set with nothing, I have to help them to discover my product! I made a mistake: photos were too big or photoholders were too small - with a lil bit of wind all the pictures were down. It was the first lesson. But I used photoholders as a businesscard holders and they looked very cool.

It was a sunny day, wonderful weather. People began to come. And I had my first sale. It was so easy. She just came, just saw my staff, and just bought a ring! It was so strange! You know, in internet: you have to take pictures, than edit pictures, than list the item, invent the description and may be translate it in few languages, and than - promote your work.... and here she just came and just bought it! I felt myself really strange and I was encouraged at the same time! I thought: Now people will come and will buy ALL my staff! :D

But things went by another way. It began to rain. Just a silly grey cloud situated over our heads and began to rain!!!! Rain in this splendid sunny day?! I was NOT ready for that! I took thousand things with me, but I WAS NOT READY FOR THE RAIN!!!
Oh NO!
I had a very good luck to have my guardian angels to the left and to the right hand side - my neighbours!
They HELPED me. They gave me a plastic to cover my stand and metallic clothespins to subject it.
My stand was a little bit wet, but covered with plastic and saved from the rain!
I felt myself anguished. I was ready to take everythig and go home. Bad weather, everything wet, no clients, no craft fair...But hope inside me whispered to wait untill this silly cloud go away. And it went away!

I removed the plastic and rebuilt my stand. It was not like in the morning, photos were wet and I removed them from the stand. People began to come slowly. You know, Mallorca is a quiet island, I live in relatively small town and nobody is harry up. ;)
My daughter Rita helped me a lot as well. She also spoked with people, explaned them about my collections and gave them my business cards. She was so pretty :) She is My "PR manager" :D
It was very exciting to see women trying my jewels and to see how they are wonderful in it. I liked very much to have direct contact with the client.
I noticed that my stand maybe was not organized in the best way. I think people were looking and were seeing nothing. The table was full but it was difficult to SEE my jewels. I understood I have to reconsider my stand. It's easy to show a big photo in internet and it is not easy to make your potential client and your small creation find each other on the craft fair stand. There is a way to do and a lot of things to learn.

But as a first experience it was nice and I sold few pieces, I learned a lot of things. I felt myself satisfied.
I had some occasional clients, I had 1 client who saw my photos in facebook, and some friends came to give me support. I drawed a conclusion: you can meet your buyers in any place, so don't resist they find you! :)

P.S: I encourage crafters to participate in craft fairs. It is a great experience and It is the best oportunity for sales, to advertise you, to find your clients and to have a direct contact with them!

Barcelona and St. Jordi

I live on Mallorca (Majorca) island, situated in Mediterranean sea, in approx. 400km from Barcelona by the sea. I needed to go to Russian consulate in Barcelona and I decided to spend one day more there because I was curious to know how is celebrating Saint Jordi (St. George) there on the 23rd of April. St.Jordi is a patron saint of Catalonia. The legend says: Sain George killed the Dragon. Dragon's blood penetrated the earth and in this place red-red roses grew up.

So the Catalonian tradition is: men present a red rose to women and women present a book to men.

I was accompanied by roses smell and a lot of books during all the day!
I love Barcelona! It's a cosmopolite city, with great creativity. Ancient history and new ideas always flow there, you feel it in every moment. I love just walk in the down town, or Raval neighbourhood and go to the port. If you go to Barcelona you'll find plenty of expos and places where to go, and where to eat.

This time I went to Textile and Ceramic museum - I love ceramic and in this museum I discovered Maria Bofill ceramic artist - her porcelain clouds are wonderful!
Also I visited Outumuro fashion photograthy exposition. His work is amazing!
I was looking his photos and I was asking myself: What do they have this pieces of white paper with black lines and silhouettes? Why they turn me crazy?

I was very happy with my discoveris, but I had en empty stomack, I needed to eat.

If you want to taste an authentic Catalan food I recommend to you restaurants Origens. If you are vegetarian, go to Self Naturista restaurant, is a great place situated just in 2 minutes walking from Plaça Catalunya - the heart of the city. They have a great variety and quality of food by low prices.

In the afternoon I returned to Mallorca accompanied by an amazing sunset. Bye bye, Adéu, Barcelona! And Hola, Mallorca! :)

On the 24th of April my VERY FIRST CRAFT FAIR was waiting for me....but I'll blog about it later ;)

I'm so excited, I must share it with you! My first client on Etsy already received her purchase from my Etsy Shop - Ring Sheaf and Ring Branch. I was really nervious waiting for her message: will she like it? maybe not?...crazy 10 days of wait :)
Today I received her message and she wrote exactly the next:
